Our program takes place at a specially designed facility. Individualized programs for each student will be designed by the program director, a PATH Master Level Instructor and Occupational Therapist. We accept riders from age 3 and up. Our therapeutic riding program operates year-round, six days a week.
Senior Citizens that might have physical (joint problems, arthritis, and low muscle tone) and/or mental disabilities (early onset Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease), can benefit from participating in equine assisted activities. Our instructor will work with the individual on grooming, horseback riding or driving a horse drawn carriage.
Carriage driving gives participants a riding alternative, opening up the world of horses to those who may be unable to ride due to weight, balance, fatigue, allergies, asthma, fear of heights, the inability to sit astride, or other issues. It can also provide our participants with a unique movement experience. Therapeutic Driving is about imparting knowledge of safety, horses, harnessing, and driving skills to children and adults using teamwork.
This is a new program at Walk On. Groundwork with horses offers our participants a chance to connect with the animal and learn leadership. It consists of exercises that you do with your horse while you stay on the ground, along with class work. We have also worked with several corporations to provide leadership workshops for executives and work groups.
Help change a life. Enabled participants to ride by providing them with financial assistance.
Help feed the herd! Our horses are the hardest workers at our facility.
Donate office material, horse supplies, or professional services.
Have a positive impact on a life. Thank you to the organizations for their continual support.
