On Sunday, May 31, 2009 the "Walk On Family of Friends" gathered at Citizens Park, Barrington for some fun in the sun, musical entertainment, crafts and games, food sales and for an awards ceremony. The Recognition Ceremony included an introduction of the Walk On Board of Directors and the Walk On Staff with a brief description of Therapeutic Riding. The MC, Chuck Prettyman, called Program Participants forward to receive beautiful Walk On Medals from their instructors. These medals are meant to show the pride and confidence that we all feel for them. Volunteers who have accumulated over 50 hours of service to Walk On received Certificates of Appreciation. The Walk On BOD received an over-sized "Check" payable to Walk On showing the monetary value of all the work perfomed by the many volunteers who support the program.
